What is Synergetix?
Synergetix is based on the following concepts:
Synergy
Nothing within the human body works independently. Everything is connected. And when everything works together harmoniously, this is when we achieve top performance and we go beyond our limits. Synergy is the idea that the total is bigger than the sum of its parts. Basically 1 + 1 = 3.
When we run for example, we want to make sure that all muscles producing motion (the prime movers) are able to perform their job, while the stabilising muscles are providing a stable base for the body to move forward smoothly and safely. If certain groups of muscles are compromised, we may still be able to run, but the body starts creating compensation patterns. Muscles that are usually prime movers start being recruited as stabilising muscles. They become tired and eventually develop dysfunction. This is when pain and injuries make this physical unbalance visible.
Similarly, if someone hates running or believes that running is bad for them, it is more than likely that the body is going to start “sabotaging” itself and develop injuries. The body is fundamentally built for survival and health. If the mind perceives a threat, you can force your body to still do anything, but it won’t go well.
So when the body, the mind and the spirit are all in alignment and striving for the same goal, absolutely anything is possible. Synergy is simply the idea of working together as one.
Energetics
The term “energetics” refers to the different energy systems of the body. Since Albert Einstein we know that everything is made of energy in one form or another. Western medicine now widely acknowledges the connection between the mind and the body. What the mind thinks, the body does. An obvious example most of us can relate to is the effect of emotional stress on muscle tension, especially in areas such as the neck and shoulders or the lower back. All emotions and thoughts have a physical manifestation.
The body has a tendency to store stress and tension in soft tissue (in “knots” or trigger points), and it is not uncommon that stressful memories or emotions come to the surface when specific areas of the body are being treated.
Massage works at a deep level to release stored tension and return the body to its natural state of harmony and optimal function.
